ABC Podcast, episode #95 plus visual aids

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by HTTC, a new segment on the show that you just really don't want to know the origin of. We say goodbye to legendary runs on Wonder Woman and Power Girl, welcome back the Avatar of Death, cheer Jonathan Hickman's wise protest in Fantastic Four, and discuss whether Rise of Arsenal #3 is in fact the worst comic ever written, or just the second worst. Also make sure to stay through the end of the show to hear us take our cats to Taco Bell. This is not a euphemism for anything.

ABC Podcast Episode #94 plus visual aids

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by a second consecutive week of Dio tributes, except this week's involve fancy salad and ridiculous shoes. Aaron discovers how all the Grant Morrison Batman fans feel, as he cannot believe how critical Evie is of Bendis's talksturbation-filled Avengers #1. Ex Machina shocks by seeminly wrapping up the major plotline an issue early, (and we don't spoil it) Aaron loves the hungry hungry hijinx of Galacta, and Evie says long live the Legion relaunch (what is this, volume 17? 18?) Also a little bit of Lost-talk, because of course.

ALSO - we are collecting ideas for what to do in our upcoming 100th episode. So give us them.

THE ISLAND HAS SWALLOWED US.

You see, it's all a big metaphor for TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK circle of life TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK the relationships we forge TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK emotional bonds create new worlds, made literal by TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK hanging a bell on it TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK hakuna matata, it means no TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK TIMESUCK.

We lost ten hours this week to a daytrip to see some friends, and another six to Lost, and as a result one of us is dead tired and the other one has only read three books, two of which she hated, which means TOMORROW night is show night, which means check back Tuesday morning! And also WHY COULD MILES TALK TO THE DEAD?!?!?!

ABC Podcast Episode #93 plus visual aids

This episode of Awesomed By Comics is brought to you by the pop art commercialization of an ancient fable. In a week with WAY, WAY, WAY more comics than anyone should have to read in a week, Siege finishes up without incident, the Heroic Age kicks off with the most worthy of champions, Booster Gold is funny again, the Unwritten is predictably stellar, pets have accidents, and the Sentry's farewell is somethin else alright. We extend a thank you and welcome to new listeners and then proceed half-cocked, and the thesaurus plays an integral role.

360-degree fandom

So hey... as you may or may not be privy, Aaron has been helping Eugene from War Rocket Ajax, aka Adam War Rock, with instrumentals for a few of his ballsout rap songs.

One is the live instrument remix for the War Rocket Ajax Podcast; another is the theme song for the Play, Trade or Bury Magic the Gathering Podcast. And look for a Treme-based jam to fly your way soon.

Aaron's band the Ampersands also performs the theme music and outro music on Awesomed By Comics. So really what I'm trying to say here is, if you like any of the above, please consider clicking here to become a fan of the Ampersands on Facebook. You can also listen to a bunch of songs on the MySpace page or even, if you're feeling frisky, buy the debut album on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby (digital or physical), and many other online outlets.

Ok, that's it for the semi-yearly band pimp, thank you for your support, and look out for the next episode of Awesomed By Comics later tonight!

ABC Podcast #91 and Visual Aids

In honor of Free Comic Book Day, this episode of the Awesomed By Comics Podcast is absolutely free! We discuss the predictable death of a certain X-Man, Marvel's Iron Man copout, another faithful Jim Henson adaptation, and the joys of owls, funny ghosts and puppies. Aaron is impressed by complex storytelling set in war-torn sub-saharan Africa, and Evie loves owls, funny ghosts and puppies. Also we talk to some kids about comics we don't read and know nothing about, then we talk to an adult about comics we don't read and know nothing about - but now own.. Also also, Aaron's on Twitter!
